Dancers of the Pulse

Kristin Allen

Kristin Allen grew up in Salisbury, Maryland where she trained and performed with Salisbury Dance Academy and Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre. She graduated in 2023 with a BFA in Dance and a Theater minor from Radford University. During her time there she was honored with performing in faculty and guest choreographer pieces by James Robey, Amy Vankirk, Inessa Plekhanova, Ji-Eun Lee, Deborah McLaughlin, Rachel Rugh, Max Reed and many others, all ranging in a variety of styles. Following college, she moved to Ohio and spent a year in Dayton Contemporary Dance Company's Second Company training and performing while also teaching for Art in Motion dance studios. As a performer, Kristin aspires to develop connections with other artists and presents for the charity of said art. 

Simone Burnett

Simone Burnett was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where she began her dance journey. Miss Burnett started her dance career at local dance studios such as, Nancy Norrick’s School of Ballet, SDA Studios, and Le Jeune Dance Academy, and later became a certified dance instructor. Her focus was initially Ballet/Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, and Jazz. However, she later adopted styles including, West African dance, Tap, Dancehall, Cunningham technique, and more. Burnett continued her dance career to The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Arts Entrepreneurship in May of 2022. During her time at OSU, Burnett studied Performance, Choreography, Intermedial Arts, Dance Production, Arts Administrative studies, and Somatic dance practices. Burnett also danced nationally and internationally, where she travelled for various types of thesis research, performance opportunities, and dance conferences such as but not limited to: Salvador de Bahia, Brazil as part of the OSU Dance Brazil Tour Group 2020 and Reykjavik, Iceland to perform in Daniel Robert’s recent Cunningham work, Are We Ok?  in the fall of 2021, Dayton and Philadelphia for the International Association of Blacks in Dance, and more. Burnett is a former first-company member of Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle, Washington for the 2022/2023 season and later continued to perform as an independent artist. Simone is excited to continue her journey with InPulse Dance Company for the 2025 season!

Abby Doerr

Abby Doerr began her pre professional training in her home town of Cleveland Ohio at Spotlight Dance Center. Recently, she has graduated from Ohio State University with her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. During her time at Ohio State, Abby worked with choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Abby Zbikowski, Dante Puleio, Valarie Williams, Alfonzo Cervera, and many more. In her time performing with Abby Zbikowski, she toured around the country performing at the American College Dance Association, both regional and national levels and received an invitation to perform at Jacob’s Pillow. Now dancing and choreographing professionally around Columbus, Abby is continuing to work with The OSU Dance Department as a dancer and collaborator with graduate professionals. She also is helping to build the next generation of dancers as an instructor at Artisan Dance Studio. Abby is in her first season with Inpulse Dance Co, performing works by Trezon Dancy.

Wilhelmina Marks

Wilhelmina Marks is originally from Mansfield, Ohio, where she began her dance training at the Richland Academy of the Arts, studying ballet, modern, jazz, and tap under Marden Ramos and Sarah Horrigan-Ramos. She earned her BFA in Dance from Wright State University in 2021. During her undergraduate years, she was a member of Dayton Ballet’s Second Company (2017-2018) and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s Second Company (2018-2020). Since graduating, Willa danced with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company as an apprentice (JB Fellow) from 2021 to 2024. She has performed in major cities including Chicago, New York City, and Pittsburgh, as well as across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. In summer 2023, she joined the Dayton Dance Initiative as a company dancer. That fall, she interned with Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, for two months and performed with the company. The following summer, 2024, she danced with Houston Contemporary Dance Company for their summer intensive.Willa is very excited to continue to perform and share her passion, as she joins InPulse Dance Company in their first season as a company dancer!

Alexandra Morales

Allie Morales is a performance artist, choreographer, and instructor originally from DeForest, Wisconsin. Her passion for dance began in her early childhood, and she owes much of her technical expertise to her training at A Step Above Dance & Music Academy and Storybook Ballet. Post-high school, Allie expanded her dance knowledge at the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and a minor in Health and Wellness Promotion. While in school, she was selected to perform in pieces by renowned choreographers, such as Robert Moses, Pramila Vasudevan, Eko Supriyanto, and Chris Schlichting. She was the featured soloist in Robert Moses’ “Cause”, and the piece was selected to compete at the American College Dance Association. Since graduating, Allie has performed professionally with Metamorphosis Dance Company, Onyxx Performance Group, Forty Steps Dance, TEN31 Productions, The Boston She Party, Madison Contemporary Dance, and with freelance choreographers such as Sabrina Yachkouri and Mica Romulo. Her precision jazz choreography is featured annually for the Christmas on the Hill event in Providence, Rhode Island. Allie also enjoys sharing her passion for dance with the next generation, and she has taught and choreographed for both recreational and competitive programs nationwide. In recent years, Allie is fascinated by the intersection of movement and communal healing, and she looks forward to sharing her artistry with InPulse Dance Co. while connecting to the greater Columbus community.

Ariana Stone

Ariana Stone is a vibrant dancer and educator who strives to explore the many purposes and intricacies of dance as it relates to human personal experience. 
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, she began dancing on a dance team in high school as well as several musical performances. She attended The Ohio State University under the Morrill Scholarship Program. There she participated in several dance works and pieces including school tours, faculty works, BFA student works, performed historical Black archived dances, and completed a solo project that explored the fusion of dance, belonging, and the experiences of incarcerated youth. 
She specialized in street dance styles such as hip hop, house, krump, contemporary, and rhythmic movement including tap and several west African styles. She has learned from and worked with several OSU faculty including Donald Isom, Crystal Perkins, Eddie Taketa, Momar Ndiaye, and Abby Zbikowski. 
After graduating cum laude from OSU, she began training with ballroom dance instructor Emily Mertens and teaching several ballroom dance styles as she continues to develop her dance career. To Ariana, dance is an instrument for fostering community and personal relationships while simultaneously navigating, understanding, or expressing one’s inner personal world. Because dance reflects the diverseness and complexity of life’s experiences, there is a place in it for everyone.
